"Is This Safe?" reads the list of extensions installed in your browser and the permissions each
one requests, using Chrome's management API. It calculates a risk score for each
extension and explains, in plain language, what that extension is able to access. This analysis runs
entirely on your device.
None. We do not collect personal information, browsing history, the contents of web pages, or any identifiers. The information about your installed extensions is read at the moment you open the popup (or when an extension is installed/changed) and is used only to display results to you.
To detect when an extension is newly installed or gains new permissions, the extension saves a
snapshot of your installed extensions' names and permissions in your browser's local storage
(chrome.storage.local). This snapshot never leaves your device and is removed if you
uninstall the extension.
None. We do not transmit data off your device, so there is nothing to share or sell. The extension makes no network requests.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a new date above.
